Navigating The Fight of Your Life
Job 32:2 NKJV
[2] Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused against Job; his wrath was aroused because he justified himself rather than God.
When you’re in the fight of your life, you need to surround yourself with sound, God-led counsel. The voice of wisdom needs to be louder than the emotional static and spiritual interference from the opinions of all the other people in your life.
You need an Elihu. You can either propel in purpose and be sharpened by an Elihu or you can stay stuck by listening to common counsel. Even though Elihu was the youngest person there, he held wisdom that helped to propel Job into his future. Wisdom sometimes comes in an unlikely package.
Elihu carried a response that was filled with wisdom, insight and revelation. In fact, immediately after Elihu gives his response, God speaks and begins to declare His response. Elihu’s words were a precursor to God’s response and ushered in the transition for Job’s new season.
During your time of transition and testing, are your friends preparing a God-breathed atmosphere, mirroring the Voice of Wisdom and cultivating an environment that breeds clarity and understanding? Or are you surrounding yourself with counsel who serves as “chatter-boxes”, those whose opinions interfere and conflict with the Purpose of God and merely become spiritual static and interfere with Godly Progress? Move forward with God’s Word and align yourself with the counsel of Elihu. Who’s your Elihu?
