Should I Pursue?

I Samuel 30:8 NKJV
[8] So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
In 1 Samuel 30:8 KJV, David sought God for direction. Before David attacked, before David made a move, before David did anything — David sought God for instruction. David did not move forward out of his own strength or intellect. Before David executed — He sought God for spiritual and natural direction.
In 1 Samuel 30:1, David was attacked by the Amalekites. 1 Samuel 30:2 declares that the Amalekites had taken the women and children in the camp captive. What has the enemy taken captive? What has the enemy stolen from you? What has the enemy stolen from your family?
Maybe the enemy stole your peace. Maybe the enemy stole your joy. Maybe the enemy stole your hope. Be not dismayed, do not fear — for God is on your side. God is the author of peace — He is Peace. God is the author of joy — He is Joy. God is the author of hope — He is Hope. Choose to surrender to God. Seek Him. Submit to Him in everything that you do. Don’t let the circumstance overwhelm you. Don’t let your situation overtake you.
1 Samuel 30:1 NLJV declares, “Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire,” Notice that the enemy had attacked David while they weren’t looking. The Amalekites, the enemy, attacked the camp while they were away. Maybe the enemy attacked you while you weren’t looking. Don’t lose hope. Choose to trust God.
1 Samuel 30:4 NKJV declares, “Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep.” David wept. The people around David wept. Things around David were chaotic. The people around you matter. Your counsel matters. In stressful and in high pressure situations, those who serve on your team matter. Those who advise and counsel you matter.
Proverbs 11:14 NKJV
[14] Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
Your counsel is critical to your success. David surrendered to God. Even in turmoil — David sought the Counsel of God.
