Pursue Wise Counsel
“My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother; For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, And chains about your neck. My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent." Proverbs 1:8-10 NKJV
Listen to wise counsel. Let Godly Wisdom and seasoned instructors lead your footsteps. Let God guide your footsteps as you submit to His Word. Tie His Word around your neck. Hide His Word in your heart. Bury His Word in the ground of your heart. Let His Word nourish your course.
Proverbs 1:8-10 AMPC declares, “My son, hear the instruction of your father; reject not nor forsake the teaching of your mother. For they are a [victor's] chaplet (garland) of grace upon your head and chains and pendants [of gold worn by kings] for your neck. My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.”
If sinners try to entice you — choose to resist temptation. Do not consent to the way of the unrighteous. Let wisdom and Godly Instruction become your garland upon your head. Clothe yourself in His Word. Dress yourself in His Way of doing things.
Follow the path of the righteous. Follow the Way of Christ. Pattern yourself after His Word and Christ will not lead you astray. Proverbs 3:5-7 NKJV declares, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.”
