When I'm Weary
“My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.” Psalms 119:81 NIV
When my soul is faint and weary my Hope is found in His Word. When my soul is struggling to hold on—His Word strengthens my spirit and is nourishment to my soul. The New International Version expounds on Proverbs 16:24 NIV like so, “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” His Word heals me.
“They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.”
Psalms 19:10 NIV. I choose to eat from His Word day and night. I long for His Word because His Word is Life and heals my heart.
The Amplified Version expounds on Proverbs 16:24 AMPC like so, “Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body.” His Word is pleasant to my spirit. The Way of the Lord is sweet. His Way heals my soul. His Way heals my heart. His Way heals my mind.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23 KJV. His Word orders my life. For Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV declares, “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” His Word orders my season and my leaf will not wither.
