The Reward For Pride
The Bible always speaks of pride as a precursor to destruction: “Pride goes before destruction...” Proverbs 16:18 Pride is an indication that failure is near. You can’t do anything without God. Your gifts, skillset, talents and abilities all come from Him. In fact He’s given you the strength to build. He’s given you the Power to advance. God is the one who releases authority on Earth through man. Favor comes from God. Wisdom comes from God. He is our Source. Pride is deceitful and will cause you to fall.
John 15:4-6 NKJV states, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” Don’t wither and wander in the wilderness — choose to submit and connect with God. Destroy pride. Surrender to Him. Without God you can do nothing.
