Don't Be Like the Heathen

When you pray, Jesus declares in Matthew 6:7 NKJV, “And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.”
The Holman Christian Standard Bible translates Matthew 6:7 like so, "When you pray, don’t babble like the idolaters, since they imagine they’ll be heard for their many words."
Matthew 6:7 HCSB
When you pray, surrender your heart to God. When you pray, don’t be desirous for others to “see” you. Prayer is not a show or spectacle. Prayer is warfare. Prayer is an intimate communing with God. Prayer is an active engagement of Heaven’s Throne Room on Earth. There is power in prayer.
In fact, according to 2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬ the Bible states that there’s healing when believers come together and pray, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Pray and seek God’s face. Seek God’s Will concerning the matter you face. When you pray seek God and not the approval or popularity of man. God wants to hear your heart. God wants to heal your heart. God wants to talk to you. God wants to commune with you. Prayer is not complicated. Keep it simple. Simply, surrender yourself to Him and He’ll direct your path.
