Old Man

"that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the
old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful
lusts,
Ephesians 4:22 NKJV
Put off the former conduct. Put off the old man. When
you are in Christ, He has given you the power and
authority to put off the old habits, lusts, addictions,
patterns, cycles, and shortcomings. You have the choice
to put off the old things. When you are IN CHRIST - the
old corrupt man (the former nature) is dead and buried
and now you are free IN CHRIST.
The Amplified Version expounds on Ephesians 4:22
AMPC in the following manner, "Strip yourselves of your
former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed
self] which characterized your previous manner of life
and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that
spring from delusion;" Strip yourself from the former
nature. Discard the old habits and old way of living.
Choose to submit to Christ. Follow His Word. Follow His
Way.
Ephesians 4:22 NLT declares,
"Throw off your old sinful
nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by
lust and deception." Throw out the old ideals and
framework. Throw away corrupt and perverse thinking.
Throw out the contaminated ways of the world and
surrender every aspect of your life over to God and let
Christ set you free.
